Task List
Makes system configuration changes to accommodate: timing, energy, pulse shapes, and other variables Works safely to prevent on-the-job injuries by following all company and facility safety regulations and guidelines. Manually aligns parts, such as mirrors, waveplates, Pockel's cell, rotators, lenses, and other components in laser body, using precision instruments. Installs and aligns optical and electronic system parts following repair or configurations changes. Sets up precision electronic and optical instruments to test system and laser devices. Uses computer interface control system to affect changes in the system including mirror set-ups, spatial filter alignment, amplifier voltages, and other characteristics. Monitors system performance and obtains data using computer diagnostics applications. Analyzes test data and component performance and reports results to other technical support engineering personnel. Repairs and replaces laser components to maintain system integrity. Maintains daily communication log of tasks performed. Operates controls of vacuum pump and gas transfer equipment to purge, evacuate, and fill laser body with specified volume and pressure of gasses. Prepares and writes technical reports to document completion of jobs and to recommend solutions to technical problems. Reviews project instructions, such as assembly layout, blueprints, and sketches, and confers with engineering personnel to clarify laser device specifications. Tests laser and other pressure systems for gas leaks, using lead detector. Prints out and maintains records and documentation of data received from computerized diagnostics. Writes, updates, and modifies operating procedures to assure standardization of routines. Interprets and determines new part specifications required for new and changed set-ups.
