Task List
Works safely to prevent on-the-job injuries by keeping equipment and work area clean and orderly, and by following all company safety rules. Inspects finished goods for defects. Feeds raw materials into manufacturing machines, adjust speed and feed settings, and observes production run for defects. Dismantles machine or equipment, using hand-tools or power tools, to examine parts for defect or to remove defective part. Replaces defective parts with new parts or repairs using hand-tools, such as files, drills & impact wrenches. Conducts periodic inspections of machinery and equipment for broken or worn parts. Observes and listens to operating machines or equipment to diagnose machine malfunction and determine need for adjustment or repair. Assembles and test operates machine to verify correction of malfunction. Maintains and lubricates machine tools and equipment & inspects fluid levels. Monitors supply of raw goods on the production machines. Observes and moves or directs to be moved, finished product around production floor to ensure production flow. Using knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties and layout, measures finished product using devices such as micrometer, caliper, indicator, TESA machine, and vacuum gauges to set-up machine for production. Consults daily with previous shift to determine machine trouble spots. Load bags & release jams on auto bagger to ensure continuous production. Load paper packaging as needed. Makes short entries in daily log book. Replace partial pallets on auto bagger and recalibrate equipment for continued production run. Checks stock and orders parts to effect repairs. Fills storage container with "compound" sealer to maintain proper levels for production. Reads meters to gather data for production reports (night shift).
